tms, HAVI, and PMI work together to make World Cleanup Day impact
tms (formerly The Marketing Store), HAVI, and PMI partnered with World Cleanup Day to inspire a better future for people, communities, and the planet — bringing our sustainability commitments to life and putting our shared values into action.
World Cleanup Day, one of the most significant civic movements to date, unites millions of volunteers, governments, and organizations in 191 countries to tackle the global waste problem and build a new and sustainable world. Their goal is to harness the power of everyday people to achieve incredible things by joining together.
Our partnership yielded massive results:
- 33 cleanup events
- 914 volunteers
- 1,868 volunteer hours
- 7,056.5 kg (15,557 lbs) of litter removed
Amy Zettlemoyer-Lazar, VP of Sustainability at tms, said, “The initial idea came from the APAC region and PMI. We built on their previous volunteer events and planned several events for just The Marketing Store. We partnered across HAVI Enterprise, which allowed us to leverage additional resources all with incredible talent. The results exceeded my expectations!”
“Plans for 2023 are already in motion. I am looking forward to sharing and scaling the different ways each business unit and location can make World Cleanup their own. We expect to have a bigger impact in 2023,” said Amy.
Although World Cleanup Day was September 17, 2022 across the globe, our communities began the cleanup projects as early as April 2022 in Singapore and May in Hong Kong. We continued to participate in cleanup projects around the world through November 2022. In Chicago, Tokyo, Duisburg, Paris, Shanghai, Toronto, Trnava DC Area, Amersfoort, London, and Rio de Janeiro, we were able to create even greater traction in achieving our volunteer commitments, while also raising awareness related to waste, consistent with our “zero waste” Better Future Blueprint commitment.
