tms celebrated Tamil Heritage Month at tms London

On January 30, we hosted our first social of the year to mark Tamil Heritage Month in our London office. The event was a celebration of Tamil culture, coinciding with the traditional harvest festival, Thai Pongal. The occasion brought together employees and special guests for a cultural immersion into Tamil heritage and culture featuring traditional food, drink, art, music, dance, literature, and history. Plus, there was a fun quiz with prizes, giving employees the chance to engage further with Tamil heritage. 

Attendees enjoyed a selection of authentic Tamil dishes, including Pongal (sweet rice pudding), Kesari sweet, Vadai, Mutton and vegetable rolls, as well as savoury snacks like Murukku.  

The event included a panel discussion with external guests, Anekha Pillai, a Bharatanatyam dancer, Ranya Sarees, founder of a traditional bridal saree collection brand, and Midhusa Media, a social impact manager and content creator.  

In addition, the office Café hosted a week-long exhibition of Tamil art, literature, history, and clothing from January 27, a lot of the art pieces were provided by NaNe Tamil.  Featuring insights into Tamil literature, one of the oldest literary traditions in the world with a history spanning over 2,000 years.
