tms welcomes 24 summer interns

We’re thrilled to welcome 22 new interns and two returning interns as part of our annual internship program in North America. The interns began working in June and will round out the program on August 11. Like last year, they have been placed across a wide range of tms teams and in various roles depending on their skillsets and areas of expertise.

The program aims to foster the minds of the future, aiding in their development and helping them bring their freshest and most innovative ideas to life. While plenty of internships still have folks fetching coffee and running errands, at tms, interns actually get hands-on work experience on real deliverables. They get to interface with clients, meet global counterparts, and work on cross-functional teams. Throughout the course of the summer, they will learn what makes tms unique and the details of how we operate as well as how to build business relationships and other broadly applicable professional skills.

When they’re not working on client or departmental projects, the interns will be heads-down on their capstone project, which replicates the promotion and pitch work that we do day in and day out for our clients, from strategy to execution. In August, the two capstone teams will pitch their concepts to the company.

Hear more from Jaime Sklar, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist and Intern Program Coordinator, about the program in a recent Built In Chicago article, featuring Chicago’s top internships.

Grace Feray (University of Texas at Austin) will focus on the global partnerships element, which underlies many of the promotions that our client-facing teams work on.

Creative, Studio, Production, and Experience

We’re lucky to welcome seven more creative minds this summer. Eric Thompson (Indiana University Bloomington), Liyi Lin (Georgia Institute of Technology), Drew Schleicher (University at Buffalo), Amelia Hoerr (Miami University), Catalina Zamora (University of Central Florida), Noah Zaroff (Indiana University), and Bryanna Rice (Southern Hampshire University) will each try their hands at different creative projects, like crafting copy and art directing. They’ll work on projects for T-Mobile and McDonald’s.

To bring the creative to life, Evan Shuller (Illinois State University) will work with our global studio team on projects for various tms clients, and Raine Nwosu (Columbia College Chicago) will help digitally produce content.

Dave Cai (University of Washing, Seattle) joins our Digital Experience Team and will learn how we ensure our digital activations are user-friendly and drive results.

Operations

Jackie Cameron (Miami University) and Caroline Burns (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) will try their hands at business operations and digital asset management respectively — the behind-the-scenes work that powers productivity across our company. Whereas Max Pasiennik (University of Colorado – Bolder) will help our marketing operations team action different programs and promotions.

Category Management

This summer, Brendan Patrick Gallagher (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) is focusing on the packaging category and what’s involved in sourcing packaging for global brands.

Marketing & Communications

Lilia (Lily) Bhote (University of Miami) will work cross-functionally to tell tms stories across internal and external digital touchpoints, amplifying the projects that her fellow interns touch and promoting what makes tms unique.

Finance

Denys Pavlyk (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) has the opportunity to learn what it takes to manage finances for a global company working with some of the world’s biggest brands.

Sustainability

An ever-increasingly important area, sustainability is at the forefront of tms’s strategy as a business and something we’re excited to have our interns support on. Kaelen Lestock (DePauw University) will work directly with global sustainability leads to make an impact.
